Dr. Lisa Romero is an experienced vocal instructor with over 30 years of teaching experience and has maintained a private studio in Gainesville, Florida for more than 25 years. She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan (1995), a Master’s Degree in Voice Performance from Boston University (1987), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Voice Performance from Boston University (1984), with additional study in Italy and France. Dr. Romero has taught at prestigious institutions including the University of Florida, Utah State University, and the University of Michigan. Her expertise spans multiple musical disciplines including vocal performance in all genres (classical, musical theater, jazz, blues, popular, rock, R&B, country, and bluegrass), guitar and keyboard for popular music, music theory and sight-reading, performance coaching including stage movement and anxiety management, vocal care for professional speakers, and language coaching in six languages: English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Latin. She works with students of all ages and singers at beginning or professional levels, offering group sessions, masterclasses, and online lessons. Her studio includes professional recording equipment for microphone technique training and hosts student recitals twice annually.
