Dr. Lauren Berman is a passionate vocal pedagogue and founder of Authentic Voice Music Studio in Tempe, Arizona. A self-described voice nerd, Berman began singing at age 5 and started formal training after experiencing performance anxiety as a teenager, which deeply informs her empathetic teaching approach. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from Arizona State University, along with a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Chicago College of Performing Arts and a Bachelor of Music Education from Loyola University New Orleans. Her studio offers a holistic approach to voice training that incorporates body work and mindfulness, recognizing that singing involves more than just vibrating vocal cords. Berman's mission is to empower students to find their own unique, authentic voice across all styles including musical theatre, classical, pop, jazz, and contemporary music.
