About

Dr. Korre Foster is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Austin Peay State University, where he conducts the Chamber Singers and University Choir while teaching courses in conducting, choral literature, and music education. He received the Socrates Award for Excellence in Teaching and has inspired choral singing at APSU with adventurous programming. He created Choir Fest, bringing over 500 student singers annually, and founded the BIG SING invitational for high school choirs. The Chamber Singers under his direction have premiered works by contemporary composers at APSU. Foster previously held a prestigious Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship to study in France, where he worked with the orchestras at the Académie de Musique and Palais Royal, and opened a private voice studio in Paris. He has sung under renowned conductors including Michael Tilson Thomas, Helmuth Rilling, and Franz Welser-Möst. His research focuses on French Baroque music, pedagogy, and choral history.
