Dr. Jennifer Cable
About
Dr. Jennifer Cable is a Professor of Music at the University of Richmond, where she coordinates the Vocal Studies Program. With a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, along with a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin College, she brings exceptional credentials and extensive experience to her teaching. Jennifer Cable has performed throughout the United States and Europe in solo repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary works of our time, demonstrating her broad artistic range and professional excellence. Her research focuses on eighteenth-century English song, and she has presented papers and lecture recitals on topics including the cantatas of Johann Christoph Pepusch and the early eighteenth-century English cantata. In 2025, Dr. Cable received the Distinguished Faculty Service Award from the University of Richmond, recognizing her commitment to excellence in teaching and service. Additionally, she has trained as a Qi Gong instructor and is currently researching the positive impact of Qi Gong on vocal performance and voice freedom, bringing a holistic approach to voice instruction.
