Dr. J. Adam Shelton is a lyric tenor based in Madison, Wisconsin, known for his lyric sound and command of comedy. He has performed with major opera companies including Madison Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Arizona Opera, and Knoxville Opera. His repertoire includes principal roles such as Alfredo in La Traviata, Ferrando in Così fan tutte, and Nemorino in L'Elisir d'Amore. Dr. Shelton teaches at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and operates the Shelton Private Voice Studio in Madison. He has completed all three levels of the Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah Conservatory, with training in jazz, pop/rock, musical theatre, country, and gospel styles. He trains singers from bel canto to Broadway, Mozart to metal.

Doctorate from University of Wisconsin-Madison in Vocal Performance. Completed Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah Conservatory (all three levels)
