Dr. David Dehner
About
Dr. David Dehner is the Director of Choral Studies and Associate Professor at Oral Roberts University. With 35 years of experience as a choral director for churches, he has earned recognition as a Grammy Music Educator Award finalist and semi-finalist, California Teacher of the Year recipient, and Congressional seal recipient. His ensembles have performed at Carnegie Hall (2008) and toured Europe (France, Italy, Austria, England). At ORU, Dr. Dehner directs choral ensembles and teaches Conducting, Class Voice, and Applied Voice, specializing in vocal health, expressive singing, choral voicing and blend, and spirit-empowered performance. His expertise spans three-year fellowship study with soprano Marilyn Mims and conducting with John Dickson, combined with comprehensive post-graduate studies in voice, conducting, and counterpoint.
