Dr. Ann Cravero
About
Dr. Ann Cravero is the Department Chair and Professor of Voice at Drake University, as well as Director of the Drake Vocal Jazz Singers. An acclaimed mezzo-soprano recitalist, she has performed at prestigious venues including Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall and Symphony Hall in Chicago. She was the 2019 Winner of the American Prize in Oratorio and performed Mahler's 2nd Symphony at Hancher Auditorium's rededication. Dr. Cravero is recognized for her expertise in contemporary opera and new music interpretation, vocal pedagogy including work with neurodivergent students, and jazz vocal direction. She received the 2019 Vocal Pedagogy Award from NATS Foundation and is a National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Award district winner.
