Diane Kesling
About
Diane Kesling is a distinguished mezzo-soprano and Adjunct Music Instructor of Voice at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. After winning the Metropolitan Opera National Audition in 1981, she was invited to become a member of the Met's Young Artist Development Program and later a member of the company. Her career has included engagements with many of the world's leading opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, Houston Opera, La Scala, Seattle Opera, l'Opéra de Nice, and the Opera Company of Philadelphia. She has performed in numerous Metropolitan Opera productions including Così fan tutte, Ariadne auf Naxos, Carmen, Madama Butterfly, Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, and Götterdämmerung. Ms. Kesling also has extensive experience in stage direction, having directed opera productions in Hot Springs, Arkansas and for Opera Memphis. She is an artist in residence at UA Little Rock and a member of NATS.
