Diana Tuffin is one of Winston-Salem's iconic jazz treasures, recognized and honored through a public art installation at the Benton Convention Center. A accomplished jazz, gospel, and blues vocalist, she has been the primary featured vocalist with The Camel City Jazz Orchestra for six years, delivering powerful performances that showcase her rich vocal artistry and interpretive depth. Tuffin is a regular guest vocalist at premier venues throughout Winston-Salem including The Rhythm Lounge & Grill and the O'Henry Hotel Jazz Series, where she performs regularly. She has performed at the prestigious Annual John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival in High Point and at worship centers throughout North Carolina. Recently returning to Winston-Salem after two years of performing in New York and New Jersey venues, including the renowned Showman's Jazz Club in Harlem, she brings extensive professional performance experience to her teaching. Tuffin studied under Norman Simmons, a prolific composer who worked with legendary jazz artists, giving her deep knowledge of jazz tradition and vocal technique. A board member of Carolina Music Ways, a nonprofit dedicated to music education and promoting North Carolina's rich musical heritage, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge and inspiration with aspiring singers.
