Dr. Diana L. Ellis serves as Associate Professor of Music at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, where she teaches applied voice, vocal diction, vocal pedagogy, and directs the opera. She earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas, a Master of Music from Mississippi College, and a Bachelor of Music Education from Louisiana College. Prior to joining McMurry in 2001, Dr. Ellis worked at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas from 1990-2001 as Assistant Professor of Music. Her performance background includes recitals at major universities, guest soloist appearances with the Arkansas Symphony and Arts Council Production of Messiah, and leading operatic roles in productions such as La Traviata, La Bohรจme, Trial By Jury, and Puccini's La Fanciulla del West. She has performed with Fantasy Opera of Abilene. Dr. Ellis holds active memberships in the National Association of Teachers of Singing and Phi Kappa Lambda, serves as President of the Abilene Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, and holds the Secretary/Treasurer position for the Great Plains NATS Chapter.
