David Tayloe
About
Dr. David Tayloe is Associate Professor of Voice and Song Literature at the University of Alabama School of Music. A tenor specializing in art song and recital performance, Dr. Tayloe has performed with major opera companies and festivals including Santa Fe Opera, Aldeburgh Festival, and Mississippi Opera. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Louisiana State University, Master of Music from University of Miami, and Doctor of Musical Arts from Eastman School of Music, with additional studies at the Britten-Pears Institute in Aldeburgh, England. Dr. Tayloe made his Carnegie Hall solo recital debut in January 2020 and is a prize winner of The American Prize in Mens Art Song category. He is a two-time Stern Fellowship recipient at SongFest and has collaborated with renowned composers including Libby Larsen and Michael Torke. As Curator of the Capstone Song Initiative, Dr. Tayloe promotes living American composers and their works.
