David Loy
About
David Loy is an accomplished musician and vocal instructor with a Master of Music in Choral Conducting and voice as his principal instrument from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance (piano) from Elon University. Beyond his academic training, David brings extensive real-world musical experience to his teaching, maintaining a flourishing private studio of piano and voice students in the Frederick area. Many of his students have received high ratings in voice and piano festivals and competitions, demonstrating the effectiveness of his instruction. Currently, David serves as a music instructor at Frederick Community College, where he teaches voice and piano lessons to students of all ages and abilities. He is also deeply involved in the local musical theater community, serving as the Music Director of the Musical Theatre Factory of Frederick, where he oversees the vocal preparation of singers for over six performances per year. Additionally, David serves as the Director of Music and Organist at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Damascus, Maryland, bringing his musical leadership to the church community. He is an active member of several professional music organizations including the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the Association of Anglican Musicians, the Music Teachers National Association, and the Federation of Music Clubs. His comprehensive background in music performance, pedagogy, and community engagement makes him an excellent choice for students seeking serious voice and piano instruction.
