Danny Ellis is a voice teacher with 40 years of experience based in Asheville, North Carolina. His teaching philosophy emphasizes finding one's authentic sound rather than imitating others, helping students access the true sound of their very own natural voice. Danny's approach centers on connecting technique with consciousness, blending effort and effortlessness to achieve grace in singing. He teaches classical voice technique fundamentals while working across multiple genres including folk and contemporary styles, and incorporates vocal improvisation into his teaching. Danny has taught many notable students including David Wilcox, Peggy Seeger, John Doyle, Kat Williams, Billy Jonas, Gary Jewels, and David Holt. He offers individual singing lessons both in his Asheville studio and online via Zoom or Skype, and also provides vocal track recording and coaching services in his studio.
