Danielle Herrington
About
Danielle L. Herrington is an accomplished soprano, vocal pedagogue, and musicologist with a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Oklahoma (2021). She holds two Masters of Music degrees—one in Opera Performance and another in Music History/Literature from Wichita State University (2015 and 2014 respectively)—and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, also from Wichita State University (2012). Danielle is an Assistant Professor of Musicology at the University of Central Oklahoma School of Music, where she teaches music history courses, applied vocal lessons, lyric diction, opera history, and research/writing courses. With thirteen years of teaching experience and nine years at the higher education level, she brings both academic rigor and practical performance expertise to her instruction. Danielle operates a private voice and piano studio in West Edmond/North Oklahoma City, accepting students in the Oklahoma City and Edmond area, with Zoom lessons available. In 2016, she founded the Oklahoma City chapter of Opera on Tap, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides performance opportunities for local professional singers, which evolved into OK City Opera, of which she serves as Artistic Director. Her commitment to vocal training and artistic excellence extends from private studio work to community engagement.
