About
Cynthia Kirkman Romoff is a performing arts educator with over 25 years of experience teaching voice, acting, and music classes across the country. A Spokane native and Whitworth University theatre alum (Class of 1991), Cynthia has returned to her hometown where she currently teaches Lower School Music at Saint Georges School and works in the community as a freelance teaching artist and vocal coach. Cynthia offers private voice lessons, private acting lessons, and group classes in the performing arts through The Romoff Voice Studio. Her extensive professional background includes serving as Director of Educational Services at California Music Studios in San Diego, where she recruited and managed over 250 music teachers throughout Southern California and produced recitals and events for over 800 students. Prior to San Diego, Cynthia taught at Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tennessee, where she served within the Arts Department and as Director of the Conservatory. As an accomplished singer and actress, Cynthia has performed principal operatic roles including roles in Der fliegende Holländer, The Turn of the Screw, Suor Angelica, and La Boheme. She recently returned to the Whitworth stage as a vocal coach for actors playing the Von Trapp children in a production of The Sound of Music. Her teaching approach integrates vocal technique with dramatic expression, drawing on her dual expertise in voice and theatre to help students become complete performing artists.
