About
Dr. Craig Price is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice at Furman University in Greenville, SC. A bass-baritone performer, he has appeared with major opera companies including Central City Opera, Charlottesville Opera, Kentucky Opera, and Opera Saratoga. He has won awards in national vocal competitions, including the Metropolitan Opera National Council competition. His concert performances include work with regional symphonies and choral ensembles. Dr. Price's primary research focuses on the intersection of music and sexuality, with his work including "Time's Up: How Opera is Facing its Own Me Too Movement," featured in the Journal of Singing and presented at major teaching conferences. He studied voice with Myra Cordell, Trudy Fuller, Neil Rosenshein, and Jacob Will. Dr. Price is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (serving as South Carolina chapter secretary) and the National Opera Association.
Education & Qualifications
Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance from University of South Carolina; Master of Music in Voice Performance from Manhattan School of Music; Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Furman University. Studied voice with Myra Cordell, Trudy Fuller, Neil Rosenshein, and Jacob Will.
