Courtney Freed is a Portland-based singer, songwriter, educator, and creative professional serving on the teaching staff at Resound NW, where she coaches singers of all ages. Described as a whirlwind of excitement and known for bringing energy and passion to her work, Courtney brings over 20 years of experience as a music educator and coach. Her background spans classical musical theater standards, contemporary pop music, and jazz-influenced work, making her a versatile instructor across multiple genres. Courtney has collaborated with premier Portland organizations including Northwest Children's Theater, Oregon Children's Theater, and Jesuit High School. She is the creator of Portland Sings!, a popular local concert series bringing together the city's finest vocalists, and performs lead vocals with the local swing band The Courtney Freed Five. Her latest album Big Crazy Love features jazz-inspired originals and covers released in early 2022.

Education & Qualifications

BA in Theatre Arts from Loyola Marymount University. Musical Theater studies at NYU.
