Connie Pao is an experienced voice and piano instructor at Newton Music Academy, serving the Newton and Needham, Massachusetts areas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance and a second Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from Taipei University's Department of Music Education, providing her with comprehensive expertise in both vocal and instrumental instruction. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Connie has developed a passion for working with students of all ages and proficiency levels, from young children to advanced adult learners. She is trained in the Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroze methods of music education, which allows her to creatively incorporate these evidence-based pedagogical approaches into her teaching of younger students, making music education engaging and developmentally appropriate. In her piano instruction, Connie focuses on building a solid technical and musical foundation, emphasizing sound quality and proper hand position. Her lessons incorporate music theory, music history, sight reading, singing, rhythm training, and ear training to develop well-rounded musicians. Connie has worked extensively with students in diverse settings, from private lessons to elementary school teaching. For younger students, she creatively uses arts and crafts to spark children's interest and engagement in the learning process.
