Claudia Benack
About
Claudia Benack is a Teaching Professor of Voice at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama, where she has been a full-time faculty member since 1997. She teaches private voice lessons for Musical Theater majors and co-instructs Musical Theatre Literature, Repertoire, and History. She also coordinates for the Acting/Musical Theatre option in the six-week summer PreCollege program. Claudia has taught at external programs including Southwestern Summer Theatre Institute, College Audition Pros, and Broadway Artists Intensive. She maintains an active private vocal studio and has had a professional international performing career with symphonies, opera companies, and as a recitalist. She views music as fundamental to human connection, citing a favorite sentiment: 'If music be the food of love, sing on.'
