CJ Greer, MFA, M.M., is an Assistant Professor of Music specializing in Voice (Musical Theatre) at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she develops and teaches the BA Musical Theatre degree program. A performer who recently completed Broadway's national tour of Company, she brings extensive professional experience to her teaching. She holds an MFA and M.M. from Penn State University (2016) and a BME in instrumental and choral education from University of Illinois/Champaign-Urbana. Her pedagogical method emphasizes body awareness, breath technique, and speaking voice integration using frameworks including Open Source Forms, Laban, Fitzmaurice, and theatrical intimacy principles. She specializes in cross-training between musical theatre and classical styles. Her research explores connections between singing and healing, with her article on teaching transgender voice students published through Routledge's Voice and Speech Journal and featured in Voice Identity. She is OSF Teacher Certified (2022) and maintains professional affiliations with MTEA, NYSTA, VASTA, and NATS. She has performed from theme parks to Broadway to Carnegie Hall.
