About
Christine Moore Vassallo is a professional soprano and voice teacher with over 30 years of performance experience and 25+ years of teaching. She earned her conservatory degree from Manhattan School of Music and received additional training at prestigious institutions including Santa Fe Opera, Tanglewood Music Center, and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Christine performed for several seasons with Leipzig Opera in Germany and has sung internationally in the UK, France, and Canada, as well as nationally throughout the United States. Based in Park Slope, Brooklyn, she served on the voice faculty of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music for 14 years. Her teaching specializes in classical bel canto technique combined with contemporary methods, working with singers across multiple genres including opera, musical theater, pop, jazz, Latin, and rock. Her students have won or placed in major competitions including the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, NATS, and Classical Singer competitions. Former students have been accepted to prestigious programs at Juilliard, Oberlin, Manhattan School of Music, and Eastman. Christine currently serves as a Teaching Artist with the Lunigiana International Music Festival in Italy and with American Voices, and is a mentor-voice teacher with ArtSmart, co-founded by international tenor Michael Fabiano, bringing free voice lessons to disadvantaged students nationwide.
