Mezzo-soprano Christina Ray is Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice and Co-Director of Show-Me Opera at the University of Missouri. Praised for her velvety mezzo by OperaWire, she is equally at home on the choral, operatic, concert, and musical theatre stages. Christina is the Founding General Director of Landlocked Opera, a boutique opera company that makes opera accessible to the community by celebrating historic operas while championing new works, ideas, and artists. Her operatic roles include Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Mercedes in Carmen, Mrs. Splinters in The Tender Land, Beatrice in Beatrice et Benedict, Ramiro in La finta giardiniera, and Hansel in Hansel und Gretel, among many others.
