About
Cherie Valaray was born in Hungary and graduated from the Budapest Studio of the Hungarian Society of Musicians and Dancers. She moved to Los Angeles in 2010 after spending seven years in Sydney, Australia, bringing over 20 years of teaching experience. As a singing teacher, Cherie specializes in opera coaching, operetta and Broadway, with a particular focus on helping to remove emotional and physical blocks that prevent singers from reaching their full potential. She teaches at Richman Music School in the San Fernando Valley area, with a studio location in West Hills, California, serving students throughout the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley regions. In Europe, Cherie sang in Hannover Theater's Gypsy Baron and Die Fledermaus, performed at the Lehar and Kalman Operetta Festival in Hungary, and appeared in musicals at the Arany Janos Theater. Her international performance career has taken her to Germany, Austria, Hungary, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, and the United States. Cherie's teaching approach emphasizes removing both emotional and physical barriers to vocal freedom, drawing on her extensive international performing experience to guide students through opera, operetta, and musical theater repertoire.
