Chelsea Wilson is a professional voice teacher and vocal coach specializing in musical theatre performance based in the Ann Arbor area. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Musical Theatre, bringing direct experience from one of the nation's premier musical theatre programs. As a certified instructor through the Institute for Vocal Advancement, she has trained voice teachers and mentored singers of all levels from beginner amateur singers to Broadway professionals. Her Broadway vocal coaching credits include SCHOOL OF ROCK (Associate Vocal Coach 2017), PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (Associate Vocal Coach), JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (tour), ROCK OF AGES (Off-Broadway), and MASQUERADE, the immersive Phantom production in New York City. Chelsea specializes in teaching the mix technique and contemporary commercial voice styles essential for musical theatre and pop performance. She founded Chelsea Wilson Vocal Studio, which offers both in-person lessons in the Ann Arbor area and online instruction worldwide. In 2021, she co-founded Broadway Vocal Coach, an online training platform and podcast providing resources for professional and aspiring musical theatre performers. Her expertise includes college audition preparation, Broadway-level vocal conditioning, and helping singers find their authentic voice while maintaining vocal health. Chelsea has presented at international conferences including IVACON 2024 in Edinburgh, and continues to develop educational content and mentorship programs for singers at all career stages.
