Charles Higgins
About
Charles Higgins, also known as Chuck Higgins, is a voice instructor at Chapel Hill School of Musical Arts with over fifteen years of professional experience as a singer and actor. His career began at Disney World as a member of the Kids of the Kingdom singer/dancer troupe. He has appeared in opera, musical theatre, and concert performances across the Eastern United States, including Carnegie Hall and major symphony orchestras. As a soloist, he has been featured in Verdi Requiem at Carnegie Hall and performed under Robert Shaw direction in Handel Messiah and Beethoven Ninth Symphony. His work has been showcased on Georgia Public Television, and he has directed over twenty-five musicals. Chuck holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Stetson University and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting. He has professional certifications in Music Theater CCM (pop/rock) Singing Styles, Science-Informed Vocal Pedagogy, and Choral Conducting. His teaching specializes in audition preparation, vocal technique coaching, opera, musical theatre, and acting techniques including Meisner, Method, and mime, with emphasis on stage presence and technical excellence.
