Cathy Hudnall is a highly experienced vocal coach and commercial voice specialist based in Franklin, Tennessee, near Nashville. She recently retired from her position as Director of the Commercial Performance and Songwriting Program at Columbia State Community College, where she had worked since 1995 teaching vocal instruction to commercial entertainment majors, digital audio recording, and commercial voice and performance. With over 40 years of teaching experience, Hudnall brings a wealth of knowledge to private voice lessons. Her professional background includes extensive work in recording studios as a singer and violinist for films, television, commercials, and recordings. She was a featured singer and composer on NBC's Emmy Award-winning "Santa Barbara" television series, which was syndicated in 24 countries. Hudnall has also performed vocally for Disney's "Never Cry Wolf" soundtrack and for commercials for major clients including Mazda and The Gap. She served as a soloist and backup vocalist for Columbia Records, Windham Hill Records, and Fortuna Records. As a music director, she has overseen over 20 musicals, multiple showcases, and performances. Her father, John Hudnall, was a respected voice teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area and a member of the San Francisco Opera and Symphony Chorus. Cathy began teaching voice at age 18 and has taught private voice in California and Tennessee for many years.
