Cate O'Brien is a singer-songwriter and music producer known for experimental indie-pop work. She began singing around age 9 and pursued music production seriously starting in 2016. She works primarily with Ableton and recently acquired a Roland SPD Pro. Her musical influences include Bjรถrk for explorative songwriting and production, Kate Bush, A Tribe Called Quest for their vibes and sample work, and singer-songwriters Joni Mitchell and Feist. Cate performs as bassist and background vocalist for the band Justice Cow and is developing her solo project Kit Orion. She is a vocal coach at Loudlands Music Lab, where she creates a nurturing environment for students to explore their voice with confidence, with lots of experience working with kids and making lessons fun and interactive.
