Caryn Greco
About
Dr. Caryn Greco is an Assistant Professor of Voice at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A soprano praised for her rich core and sparkling bloom in the upper register, she has performed on operatic and concert stages across North America and Scandinavia. Her extensive operatic credits include leading roles in Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute, Hansel and Gretel, La Bohรจme, and numerous Gilbert and Sullivan productions. She has performed with prestigious regional opera companies including Pittsburgh Festival Opera, Portland Summer Opera, and Toronto Summer Opera. Dr. Greco holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from West Virginia University and earned both her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees from Appalachian State University. Originally from Winston-Salem, she brings deep knowledge of Scandinavian vocal repertoire and West African music and dance traditions to her teaching. She is an active advocate for contemporary music and has premiered roles in new compositions, bringing diverse and cutting-edge repertoire to her students.
