Carolena Mátus is a professional jazz vocalist, educator, and voice teacher who serves the Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia areas. She is a professional member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and a collaborative partner with the Virginia Mason Otolaryngology Voice Clinic. Carolena specializes in vocal mechanics and artistry, emphasizing healthy singing technique through a supportive learning environment. She is a classically trained singer with over 30 years of vocal experience who spent the majority of her career living and performing in Las Vegas, Nevada. She performs in multiple genres and works with students across Washington State, from Ocean Shores to Seattle. Carolena also teaches online via Zoom and FaceTime to students nationwide and internationally, including students in North Carolina, Chicago, Arizona, Bay Area, Hawaii, New York, Korea, Italy, and more. Her teaching focuses on proper vocal mechanics, healthy vocal production across all genres, artistry development, and building musical self-confidence.
