About
Dr. Carol Anderson is an Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Vocal Diction, Coaching, Literature, and Collaboration at the University of Utah School of Music. She brings over two decades of distinguished experience in opera and vocal coaching to her teaching position. Dr. Anderson previously served 22 seasons as Principal Coach with Utah Symphony and Utah Opera, where she gained extensive experience working with professional singers and developing vocal technique through collaborative coaching. Since 2002, she has been an integral member of the music staff at The Santa Fe Opera. Her professional background includes music staff positions with leading institutions including Orlando Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Seattle Opera, and other major opera companies. She has served as Chorus Master and Music Administrator, and is regularly engaged as an official accompanist for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Dr. Anderson is frequently asked to present master classes and offer individual consultations to opera and voice students at music schools across the country. She also presents Utah Opera's Prelude talks and lectures for Santa Fe Opera's Prelude Dinners, and has collaborated on performances highlighting music by female composers, including Holocaust-era works.

DMA in Keyboard Collaborative Arts from University of Southern California, MM in Accompanying and Chamber Music from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, BA in Church Music with Piano Emphasis from Baylor University
