Carlos Enrique Santelli is an Assistant Professor of Voice and opera specialist at the University of Texas at Austin's Butler School of Music, joining the faculty in Fall 2025. A distinguished 2018 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions winner, tenor Santelli has performed with major opera companies including Houston Grand Opera, San Diego Opera, Minnesota Opera, Santa Fe Opera, and Los Angeles Opera. His repertoire showcases roles such as Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore, Tonio in La fille du régiment, and Valcour in the rarely performed L'Amant Anonyme. Beyond his celebrated performance career, Dr. Santelli is a passionate educator dedicated to nurturing the next generation of singers. Previously serving as assistant professor of voice at the University of Memphis (2023-2025), he led the voice pedagogy curriculum and vocology certificate program. His scholarly contributions include publications in the Journal of Singing addressing vocal pedagogy topics. Dr. Santelli brings both artistic excellence and pedagogical expertise to his teaching.
