Carla Pontes is a Portuguese lyric soprano born in Lisbon's historic Alfama neighborhood. After 16 years teaching artistic education, she focused on singing and studied vocal exploration with various instructors in Portugal and abroad. Her versatile background encompasses fado, rock, pop, and classical styles, making her a unique and expressive performer and teacher. Carla offers personalized vocal instruction at Academia Voz do Sul in the Algarve, with a creative methodology that combines body work, voice, movement, and vocal liberation. She specializes in audition and competition preparation for both youth and adults, and also offers therapeutic singing sessions through her "Singing Beyond" program. As a performer, Carla is available for weddings, private functions, and special events.
