Bronwen Forbay
About
Dr. Bronwen Forbay is a South African soprano and Associate Professor of Voice at Furman University in Greenville, SC. She is recognized across three continents for her operatic, concert, and recital performances. Opera Magazine praised her as having "At once powerful, radiant, timbrally beautiful, and balanced throughout the range, her soprano is that of a singer at the top of her game." Her operatic repertoire includes Mozart's Queen of the Night, Violetta in La Traviata, and Lucia di Lammermoor. She has performed concert works ranging from Bach and Handel to Beethoven with orchestras including Johannesburg and KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestras. As a teacher, Dr. Forbay specializes in Afrikaans art song literature and lyric diction, diction in Italian, German, French, and English variants, bel canto and Italian vocal traditions, competition and audition preparation, and opera role study.

Doctor of Musical Arts from University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music; Artist Certificate from Southern Methodist University; Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music; Bachelor of Music from University of KwaZulu-Natal (Durban, South Africa).
