Briana Sosenheimer
About
Dr. Briana Sosenheimer is an American soprano, opera director, and SVI-trained vocologist whose work spans the United States, Canada, Europe, and South Africa. She serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Centenary College of Louisiana, where she is Director of Opera Centenary and Coordinator of the Voice Area at the Hurley School of Music. Recognized for her vibrant stage presence, she has performed leading roles in classical operas and major oratorio works. Dr. Sosenheimer earned the 2025 Voice Pedagogy Award from the National Association of Teachers of Singing for her dedication to teaching and the study of voice pedagogy and science. She has directed over 30 theatrical productions with major opera companies including Indianapolis Opera, Pittsburgh Festival Opera, and Chicago Summer Opera. She holds a D.A. in Vocal Performance and Stage Direction from Ball State University, M.M. in Vocal Performance from Bowling Green State University, and B.M. in Vocal Performance with a minor in Dance from Hope College. She completed the internationally recognized Summer Vocology Institute at the University of Utah and all three levels of Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method.
