Brett Epperson
About
Dr. Brett D. Epperson is an Assistant Professor of Choral Conducting at the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music, where he directs Pacific Singers, University Chorus and teaches coursework in conducting. A baritone vocalist, he has sung with Grammy Award-nominated choral ensembles and has been featured as a soloist in choral-orchestral performances across the Midwest and South. Prior to his appointment at Pacific in fall 2025, Epperson served as assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Hastings College since 2022, where he directed the Hastings College Choir and Choral Union, along with teaching courses in conducting, vocal pedagogy, diction, and studio voice. Before his career in higher education, he was a music educator in public schools for nearly a decade, leading high school choral programs in Iowa and Nebraska. Dr. Epperson is active as a guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and collaborative keyboardist, with appearances across the United States, the Caribbean, Europe, Kenya and Mexico. He is also a composer, with Galaxy Music Corporation releasing his first published composition, Da pacem Domine, in 2022. He is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
