About
Branch Fields is an accomplished bass singer described by Opera America as "a bass of resonant richness." He maintains an active performance career across North America and internationally with major opera companies including Santa Fe Opera, New York City Opera, and Boston Lyric Opera. Fields made his Broadway debut in the 2008 Lincoln Center Theater production of South Pacific, understudying Emile de Becque in a Tony Award-winning production. He has since performed this role in seven productions throughout the U.S. and Canada, earning nominations for "Best Actor in a Musical" in Boston and Richmond. His recent operatic roles include Oliver Warbucks, Captain Von Trapp, and classical bass parts such as Don Giovanni. In concert, he has performed with the Munich Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra, and American Symphony Orchestra, including Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Mozart's Requiem. He serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Voice in VCU's Music Department.

Master of Music from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (Cole and Kate Porter Memorial Scholarship recipient); Studied with Metropolitan Opera bass Giorgio Tozzi; Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia (full scholarship, studied under Met baritone Louis Quilico); Apprenticeships at Utah Festival Opera, Opera Theater of St. Louis, and Santa Fe Opera
