Brady R. McElligott
About
Brady R. McElligott is an Associate Professor of Music in Opera and Voice and Director of Opera Studies at The University of Tulsa Kendall College of Arts & Sciences. A composer, pianist, coach, and vocalist with extensive experience in operatic and vocal performance, McElligott spent 15 years at The University of New Mexico collaborating with legendary opera diva Marilyn Tyler as musical director and opera coach before joining UTulsa faculty in fall 2007. His professional background includes performances with Opera Southwest, University of New Mexico Opera Theatre, La Zarzuela de Alburquerque, and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, where he served as Korrepetitor and vocal soloist. McElligott is a masterful teacher of voice, diction for singers, vocal pedagogy, opera literature, and vocal literature, with deep expertise in composition and collaborative piano accompaniment.

M.M. in Music Composition from Florida State University (Dissertation: Field Songs), B.M. in Music Composition from Florida State University, A.A. in Music from Brevard Community College. Studied composition with Harold Schiffman and John Boda, piano with Leonard Mastrogiacomo, and voice with Randolph Symonette and Roy Delp
