Bailey Barnes
About
Bailey Barnes is a soprano and voice instructor based in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas of New Mexico, serving students throughout the region including Los Alamos. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2010 and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Vocal Performance with a minor in Arts Leadership and Business at the University of New Mexico. For over a decade, Bailey has designed and implemented vocal music education programs in public schools and non-profit organizations across New Mexico, helping hundreds of students young and old develop their voices. Her teaching includes repertoire in a variety of styles including opera, art song, musical theater, and jazz, as well as stylistic and musical interpretation, stage performance technique, music theory, sight reading, basic piano skills, and diction. Bailey is also an active performer who co-founded Opera on the Menu, an operatic dinner theater in Los Ranchos, NM. She performs classical and musical theater repertoire in self-produced concerts and has appeared at Fort Lewis College and with the Durango arts organization 3rd Avenue Arts.
