Ashley Emerson is a soprano and Vocal Instructor at the University of South Carolina School of Music in Columbia, South Carolina. Described by critics as a 'vocal and dramatic delight,' she has performed extensively with major opera companies, including The Metropolitan Opera where she appeared in over 200 performances following her graduation from the prestigious Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. Her operatic roles include Papagena in The Magic Flute, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, and Despina in Così fan tutte. Beyond her performance career, Emerson serves as Assistant Director of Spark: Music Leadership at Carolina and provides applied instruction in the voice area. She maintains involvement in professional organizations, serving on the Board of Governors for the American Guild of Musical Artists, where she assists with union contract negotiations. Emerson brings diverse interests to her teaching and wellness work, holding certifications in yoga and pilates, reflecting her holistic approach to vocal development.
