Aretha Scruggs is a professional singer, songwriter, and certified vocal coach with 18 years of experience teaching students of all ages and singing levels. She has performed in 20 countries and toured internationally with renowned artists including Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, Christina Aguilera, and Anita Baker. Currently, she serves as a Commercial Voice Instructor and adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University. Her teaching approach emphasizes helping students unlock the power of their own voice by focusing on vocal concepts and building muscle memory to achieve vocal freedom on stage. As of 2024, she has introduced a group vocal cohort model working with small groups of 3-5 students to help them reach their potential collectively. Based in Pasadena, Aretha offers both private lessons and group coaching.
