Anya Kalina

About

Anya Kalina is a classically-trained singer, active performer, and music educator based in Portland, Oregon. Born in Western Ukraine and raised with classical music training from a young age, Anya made vocal recordings with USSR's largest recording company before relocating to Los Angeles in the early 2000s and Portland in 2009. She holds a degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the Academy of Fine Arts and brings extensive experience teaching adults and children of varying ability levels across multiple musical styles. Anya is the Executive Artistic Director and Soprano soloist at Portland Chamber Music, a nonprofit organization. Her teaching methodology is influenced by posture, breathing techniques, Yoga, and the Alexander Technique, emphasizing body awareness, tension-free singing, musicality exploration, stage presence, and phrasing.

Education & Qualifications

Degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the Academy of Fine Arts. Classical vocal training in Western Ukraine. Training in Alexander Technique, Yoga, and breathing techniques.
