Anne Zwick Turner
About
Anne Zwick Turner is a soprano who has sung professionally since 1969, bringing over five decades of performance and teaching experience to her students. Since 1988, she has served on the full-time faculty of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, where she coordinates the vocal component of the music program, teaches private voice, and directs the Opera Workshop. Her extensive performance career encompasses opera, operetta, recital, chamber music, and oratorio, with special emphasis on music of living composers. She has performed at prestigious venues including Weill (formerly Carnegie) Recital Hall in New York and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and appeared as soloist with the Boston, Albany, and Springfield Symphonies. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of Rochester/Eastman School of Music with a minor in psychology, and a Master's Degree in Opera Performance from California State University at Northridge. She studied voice with Master Voice Teacher Cornelius Reid in New York City from 1997 until his death in 2008, bringing this distinguished pedagogical lineage to her teaching. She has been teaching voice since 1976, developing a comprehensive approach that helps students of all levels develop healthy vocal technique and artistic expression. She currently holds the title of Senior Artist-in-Residence Emerita in Music at Skidmore College.
