Anne Basinski
About
Anne Basinski is a Professor of Voice and Director of Opera Theater at the University of Montana School of Music in Missoula. She specializes in advanced vocal instruction and operatic training, directing UM's Opera Theater program which regularly produces major opera productions such as Mozart's Magic Flute, Così fan tutte, and Idomeneo. Under her direction, UM students develop comprehensive performance and vocal skills through rigorous training and staged opera productions. Prof. Basinski has fostered a strong opera program at UM that has produced graduates who have gone on to perform with professional opera companies including Opera San Jose, Intermountain Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Portland Opera, and Montana Lyric Opera. She brings extensive expertise in voice pedagogy, operatic repertoire, and theatrical movement for singers. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes building strong technical vocal foundations while developing artistic interpretation and stage presence. She serves as a mentor and instructor for University of Montana vocal students pursuing professional careers in opera and classical singing.
