Angela Burns
About
Angela Burns is a world-class mezzo-soprano with degrees in Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Performance. She has performed as a soloist and conductor before four U.S. Presidents and audiences exceeding one billion viewers across television, broadcasts, and live recordings. Until recently, she served as leader, conductor, mezzo-soprano soloist, and choral member of The Singing Sergeants, the official professional chorus of the United States Air Force. Angela continues to perform with Conspirare, a Grammy award-winning professional choir, as both a choral member and mezzo-soprano soloist. She has collaborated with renowned conductors including Craig Hella Johnson, John Rutter, Craig Jessop, Mack Wilberg, Anton Armstrong, and Eric Whitacre. She studied classical and Broadway vocal techniques under vocalists Renee and Rachelle Fleming. In January 2022, Angela founded Wilmington Voices to rebuild a sense of community and connection across diverse groups of people in New Hanover County. A native of Wilmington, NC, she operates Port City Voice Studio where she teaches students of all ages.
