Andrew Voelker is an Academic Professional Associate, Vocal Coach, and Music Director of Opera Theatre at the University of Georgia's Hugh Hodgson School of Music, having joined the faculty in 2025. He holds a Doctor of Music degree in Collaborative Piano from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, one of the nation's premier music conservatories, along with a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the Cleveland Institute of Music. He also earned Bachelor of Music degrees in both Piano Performance and Voice from Northern Illinois University. With advanced training in collaborative piano, vocal coaching, and score analysis, Andrew brings exceptional expertise to the areas of vocal coaching, lyric diction, and contemporary score interpretation. He specializes in art song coaching and has performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, making his Carnegie Hall debut in April 2023 performing as a collaborative pianist with renowned tenor Andrew Lunsford. Prior to joining UGA, Andrew served as Music Director of the Crane Opera Ensemble at SUNY Potsdam, where he coached and conducted productions of major operatic works including Le nozze di Figaro, La traviata, Little Women, Serse, and L'incoronazione di Poppea. He also has extensive experience working with student opera programs at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. His comprehensive knowledge of operatic repertoire combined with his skill as a pianist and coach makes him invaluable for singers pursuing professional opera careers or developing strong vocal technique across classical genres. Andrew's teaching emphasizes the integration of music theory, text interpretation, and vocal technique to help singers achieve artistic excellence.
