Andrea Edith Moore is an Instructor of Music in Voice at Duke University, bringing both passion and expertise as a lifelong musician and dedicated scholar. She has deep personal ties to Dukeโshe was born at Duke Hospital, her father Dr. Joseph Moore is professor emeritus of Oncology, and both of her sisters are Duke alumnae, making this appointment feel like coming home. Andrea holds degrees from Yale University, Peabody Conservatory of Music at The Johns Hopkins University, and UNC School of the Arts. As an accomplished concert soloist, her performances have been praised for their opalescence, impressive phrasing, and inherent musicality, with critics highlighting her powerful and flexible soprano voice. She has performed at prestigious venues including The North Carolina Symphony, Teatro Colon, The North Carolina Opera, Hamburger Kammeroper, Eastern Music Festival, El Paso Symphony, Aspen Music Festival, and Central City Opera. Andrea is a prizewinner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and has twice received the Yale School of Music Alumni Award. She has taught voice for over 20 years, having educated singers at Yale University and served on the voice faculty of UNC Chapel Hill for nearly a decade.
