Amy Wood is an accomplished multi-instrumental voice teacher and musician serving the Scranton area through Rising Stars Performing Arts Academy. With a lifetime of singing experience beginning at age three, Amy has developed expertise in diverse vocal genres including jazz, classical, opera, rock, pop, and metalβa rare combination that allows her to teach students with virtually any musical interest. Her performance background includes studies at Middle Tennessee State University, where she developed her vocal skills while performing in concert choirs and jazz ensembles. Beyond vocal performance, Amy is a skilled saxophonist, proficient in alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone, which gives her deep understanding of breath support, phrasing, and musicality that directly enhances her vocal teaching. Amy's background includes professional performance experience as the front woman of a garage band, where she gained extensive stage experience and audience engagement skills. Before joining Rising Stars, Amy homeschooled her two sons while offering private vocal and saxophone lessons, developing a strong track record of student success. Her teaching integrates technical vocal instruction with the performance confidence, stage presence, and stylistic versatility needed for success in modern music. She works with students on technique, breath control, intonation, and interpretation across multiple musical styles, helping them discover their unique voice and artistic identity.
