About
Amy Cofield is a highly accomplished soprano and voice teacher with over 20 years of professional singing experience. She is the Academy Director and lead vocal instructor at Wickham Road Music Academy in Melbourne, Florida. Amy earned her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Music Education from Indiana University South Bend. Throughout her distinguished career, Amy has been praised by the New York Times for her "lovely, rich tone" and has performed to critical acclaim across the United States and internationally in Italy, France, Croatia, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, England, Santo Domingo, Guam, Taiwan, and Japan. Her operatic roles have included Violetta, marking her debut at Houston Grand Opera where she covered the role made famous by Renee Fleming, as well as numerous other leading roles with various opera companies. Prior to relocating to Florida, Amy directed the Apprentice Artist Program at Opera Roanoke in Virginia and has served as an adjunct voice professor at Washington and Lee University, Hollins University, and Goshen College. She offers classically-based training with varied applications to multiple styles and genres, based on each studentโs individual goals. Amy desires to help singers develop and set free their own unique voices in the most organic, holistic way, sharing ideas and techniques she has personally tested during her extensive professional career.
