Amanda Majeski
About
Amanda Majeski is an internationally renowned American soprano and Assistant Professor of Voice at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, where she joined the faculty in Fall 2022. She is celebrated for her interpretations of Mozart, Strauss, Wagner and Handel, and is highly acclaimed for her portrayal of Janáček's Káťa Kabanová. Majeski made her Metropolitan Opera debut on the opening night of the 2014-15 season as Countess Almaviva in a new production of Le nozze di Figaro. She has performed at prestigious venues worldwide including La Scala di Milano, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Oper Frankfurt, and numerous other major opera houses. Majeski was a member of the Merola Opera Program, the Gerdine Young Artist Program at Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and the Steans Institute at Ravinia. She splits her time between Wisconsin and Ann Arbor, bringing her wealth of international performance experience to her teaching at the University of Michigan.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University Bienen School of Music. Graduate diploma from Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Member of Merola Opera Program and Gerdine Young Artist Program at Opera Theatre of St. Louis.
