Professor of Music at the University of Mississippi and Music Director for the Opera Theatre. Amanda Johnston is a Canadian collaborative pianist and vocal coach specializing in lyric diction for singers. She teaches advanced diction, German language for singers, and coaches students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has been broadcast on CBC Radio 2, NPR, and various classical radio stations, and has performed internationally in Hong Kong, Sweden, Germany, France, Austria, Scotland, Canada, and the United States. Dr. Johnston is also Instructor of German at the Academy of Vocal Arts.

Queen's University (Bachelor's degree), Hochschule für Musik 'Franz Liszt' Weimar, Germany (studied), Janáček Academy of Music Brno, Czech Republic (studied). Author of 'English and German Diction for Singers: A Comparative Approach' (3rd edition, 2024).
